The Brilliance Project - Blackpool
As Principal Contractor, we were delighted to undertake the management and delivery of this landmark project.
With over 25 km of power cables contained in 2.5 km of buried ducting linking a series of spectacular arches, supported on 9m piles. Each arch contained over 200 individual LED’s along with associated floodlighting and projectors; all of which were controlled by three computers issuing over three million commands per second, which must make this the ultimate lighting contract available to any specialist contractor to date.
Street lighting was again provided using LED’s and is the first of its kind in the UK, with some 45 units deployed, using a total of almost 8,500 individual LED’s.
Along with this state of the art installation, as a company, we were able to demonstrate our more general construction skills totally reconstructing the associated highways which involved the removal of some 3000 tonnes of redundant carriageway materials, constructing a suitable base and laying over 250,000 individual high quality granite paving blocks.
