Brightening up London Borough of Camden by installing LED street lights as part of Camden Council’s West End Project

We have been helping to provide a bright future for the London borough of Camden after working as a supply chain partner to Eurovia undertaking refurbishment and upgrade work of street lighting columns as part of the West End Project – a scheme designed to transform the area around Tottenham Court Road.

We were named as a supply chain partner on the two-year project in 2017 and we’re working with Eurovia undertaking the removal and refurbishment of eight heritage street lighting columns dating back 100 years.

The eight columns will be restored and upgraded to accommodate energy efficient LED lighting. The restoration process involves stripping each column down, installing new strengthening bars, repairing imperfections, replacing the lantern bowl and lights and repainting the columns to restore them to their former glory.

Refurbishing and upgrading these historic lights form part of the wider works to transform the area around Tottenham Court Road. The £35 million West End Project awarded to Eurovia will deliver improvements to the heart of Camden’s busy West End, providing safer, greener and more attractive streets for residents and visitors.

This follows on from our recent street lighting works on The Mall and Constitution Hill.

Our Area Manager Steve Ellis said “being chosen to work with Eurovia on a key London project is testament to the company’s reputation in the industry – “The West End Project is a landmark moment for Camden Borough, with significant investment pumped into the infrastructure of the area to make it even more attractive for residents, visitors and businesses,”

“We’ve worked on LED lighting installation and maintenance projects across the country and we are delighted to be installing the latest in energy efficient LED lighting technology in Camden to keep the Borough lit for many decades to come.”
